Frequently asked questions
What is Code Violation Alert?
A 7 AM email for lawn care and junk removal companies with every new overgrown yard, trash, junk and junk vehicle case their city logged, plus a lead app on the Featured and Exclusive plans. We read the official city code enforcement records for 68 cities, keep only those kinds of cases, and send the address, ZIP, date and the city's own wording for each one.
Where does the data come from?
From code enforcement and 311 records that each city publishes openly, such as City of San Antonio 311 service calls (Code Enforcement), City of Baltimore 311 customer service requests (high grass and weeds, sanitation on property, abandoned vehicles), Louisville Metro Property Maintenance site visit violations. Each city page names its source and shows the newest case date we have.
Is a case the same as a violation?
No. A case is a complaint or case the city logged. Some close with no violation found. We show the city's own wording and never say that an owner broke a rule.
Which kinds of cases do I get?
You pick the work you do when you sign up: overgrown yards and weeds (lawn care), trash, junk and debris (junk removal), junk or abandoned vehicles, or any mix. Some cities file yard and trash together, and vacant property cases often need both, so those go to either trade.
How much does it cost?
Per city, per month: Directory Listing $14.99 (a listing and quote requests from property owners, no alerts), Daily Alerts $49 (the 7 AM email and CSV), Alerts + Featured $99 (email, the lead app and one of 3 Featured spots), Exclusive City $299 (you are the only company that gets the cases). Yearly is 12 months for the price of 10. Cancel any time.
Do you offer a refund?
Yes. If it is not useful, ask within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full.
Is the list shared with other companies?
On Daily Alerts and Alerts + Featured, yes: everyone subscribed in the same city gets the same cases. Exclusive is the exception, one company per city.
Do the cases include phone numbers?
No. Cities do not publish an owner's phone with a code case. Every case has the street address and most have a ZIP. Philadelphia and Indianapolis and Cape Coral and Detroit and Anaheim and Little Rock and Syracuse and Thornton and Greeley also publish the owner's name on the public record, which we pass on inside your account for mailed letters and never show on public pages.
How do companies use the cases?
Most leave a door hanger, mail a postcard or a letter to the owner, or stop by when they are already working on that street. Your account includes an outreach pack with templates. Follow your city's rules on flyers and door hangers, never put anything in a mailbox, and never suggest you are with the city.
How fresh is the data?
We check every city every 2 hours. Some cities post cases the same day and others in batches: a city whose newest case is more than 7 days old is marked Delayed, and one more than 30 days behind comes off the site. Right now: San Antonio runs through 2026-10-23; Pittsburgh runs through 2026-10-16; Decatur runs through 2026-10-22; Montgomery runs through 2026-10-22; Reading runs through 2026-10-23; Scottsdale runs through 2026-10-21; Wake County runs through 2026-10-22.
